You will need at least 4 or 5 days and probably a week to see and do all of the wonderful activities the Sedona area has to offer. Please plan your stay accordingly.



  • Take one of our wonderful scenic tours. Our concierge staff can book one or more of these tours for you if you are staying with us.

  • A list of 102 Things to Do in the Sedona area. Make sure to make Sedona the hub of your trip to all of the exciting things to do in the area (including a day trip to the Grand Canyon - only a 2 hour drive).

There are numerous hiking trails in and around Sedona, including Vultee Arch, Submarine Rock or Wilson Mountain (visit the Sedona or Beaver Creek ranger stations for information about the best hiking areas).

  • Visit Out of Africa - spend a day and visit the Serengeti Plains and see over 300 animals in their habitats. A great photo opportunity.

  • Sedona Racquet Club - Spend a relaxing day being pampered or work out, play tennis or swim at the Sedona Racquet club.

  • Sedona SuperVue Theatre

  • Sedona Creative Life Center - programs that enrich the human heart and soul.

  • Ride the numerous trails through the red rocks on a cross-country bicycle (local rentals available).

  • Visit the Page Springs Fish Hatchery (one of Arizona's largest).

  • Fish for trout in Oak Creek, Beaver Creek or the Verde River (from Memorial Day to Labor Day).

  • Visit the Sedona Arts Center on Art Barn Road in Uptown Sedona (new shows frequently).

  • Swim at Grasshopper Point in Oak Creek.

  • Take a guided tour of Slide Rock State Park or walk around the rocks and splash or swim in the creek with its awesome views of the red rock buttes (year 'round).

  • Visit the Chapel of the Holy Cross with its incredible Red Rock views.

  • Golf at one of Sedona's 18-hole, executive or par three courses.

  • Visit Tuzigoot National Monument near Cottonwood (ruins of a fantastic 1200 year old Indian village).



  • Fish at the Rainbow Trout Farm in Oak Creek Canyon (all equipment is provided and no license is necessary).

  • Take a four-wheel drive trip into the National Forest (jeep rentals are available locally) or call Red Rock or Pink Jeep for a guided tour.

  • Take a horseback ride. Two great riding stables offer everything from a one hour ride through overnight trips, sunset dinner and breakfast rides. Sedona trails are among the world's most beautiful.

  • Visit the Clemenceau Heritage Museum in Cottonwood.

  • Enjoy a play or art exhibition at the Sedona Arts Center (SAC) located in uptown Sedona. See our concierge for current schedule.   • Visit Montezuma's Castle (a fantastic cliff side Indian ruin) near Middle Verde Road off I-17.

  • Visit Fort Verde Historic Park in Camp Verde.

  • Shop 'til you drop at the shops and boutiques in Tlaquepaque, Uptown Sedona, Hillside Shops, Artesania, Artisan's Galleria (or even a nearby factory outlet mall) and other nearby shopping areas.

  • Take fabulous photographs or miles of video tape of the natural beauty.
  • Walk to the bottom of Montezuma's Well at Beaver Creek.

  • Bird watching in the Verde Valley is some of the state's best.

  • Visit Red Rock Crossing (the most photographed site in Arizona). Have a picnic lunch in the park area. There are hiking trails nearby along the creek.

  • Drive the scenic routes through Oak Creek Canyon, up Airport Road, to Red Rock Crossing, or to Boynton Canyon and others.

  • Float down the Verde River (tours leave from Camp Verde) in a canoe. Call 567-9294 for information.

  • Hike Boynton Canyon and have a picnic or a romantic lunch at Enchantment Resort.

  • Visit the over 40 art galleries in and around Sedona. In some shops you can visit with the artists and watch them work.

  • Play tennis, swim or exercise at the Sedona Racquet Club (see our concierge for details).

  • Go dining and dancing at one of the town's night spots - everything from country and western to rhythm and blues to contemporary sounds.



  • Enjoy a cappucino or latte at one of Sedona's coffee houses.

  • Visit the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff with its great display of the history of the Southwest.

  • While in Flagstaff also visit the Riordan mansion near the Northern Arizona University campus.

  • Youngsters will enjoy the Lions Club Playground at the Posse Grounds or a swim in the Sedona city pool (seasonal) (of course our hotel pool is also available).

  • Grab a sketchbook and a few pencils and draw, draw, draw.
  • Visit the "House of Apache Fire" at Red Rock State Park.

  • In the Spring, take a wildflower hike to view our native plants.

  • Take the Verde Canyon Railroad historic train ride from Clarkdale to Perkinsville, only a 4 hour roundtrip to see an incredible array of birds, animals and scenery (we are authorized ticket agents).

  • Ski the beautiful slopes of Snowbowl at Flagstaff during the winter months.

  • In summer take the ski lift in Flagstaff for a cool, scenic ride and fantastic views.

  • Take the all day train ride from Williams to the Grand Canyon and back.

  • Visit historic Crescent Moon Ranch Park and have a picnic lunch.

  • Enjoy Jazz on the Rocks during September, Western Americana Week, the Sculpture Walk, the Verde Valley Fair, Christmas at Los Abrigados light show, the Arts and Crafts Festival, and many more fantastic activities.

  • Visit the deer farm west of Flagstaff where you can see, feed and touch the local animals.

  • Try casino gambling at nearby Cliff Castle Lodge (near Camp Verde).

  • Take a day trip to Walnut Canyon (near Flagstaff) and see the area on a self or guided tour

  • Take a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Either drive yourself (about 2 hours) or we can arrange an escorted tour

  • Take the scenic drive up Schnebly Hill Road. A four wheel drive vehicle is great for this trip
